In particular we would be lying if we said we weren't heavily influenced by Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. There you can acquire Cavorite, the mineral that will allow you to travel into space, where you encounter ancient alien cultures on the moon, and travel beyond that to Mars (Barsoom), where the beautiful Dejah Thoris can help you acquire the Ninth Ray, one of the required components of a Time machine, which can be used to travel back in time to save the world. Build Nemo's Nautilus to go beneath the sea to Atlantis, and travel even deeper into the lost world of Pellucidar, where dinosaurs occupy the ancient forests. Play as the leader of the noble League of Gentlemen, Professor Moriarty's evil Malum Sodalitas, or the mystic Gothic Union. The Lost Worlds Mod is about all that and more. Gothic novels, detective stories, science fiction, and stories of adventure in set in exotic lost worlds exploded onto the scene, giving the world some of its most enduring characters: Sherlock Holmes, Frankenstein, Ebenezer Scrooge. In this dynamic age, the spirit of imagination took flight in ways it had never done before.
